St. Matt’s recently celebrated 50 years of incorporation.
That is five decades of ongoing work to support seniors, prevent evictions, operate a daily drop-in café serving more than 200 meals per day, and lead collaborative, decolonized approaches to serving the city’s most vulnerable residents – and serves as a springboard to even more impactful work.

Our programs provide hope and support people to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Street Outreach
In partnership with the City of Hamilton, our outreach team helps people facing complex barriers access housing and support services
Emergency & Mobile Food Deliveries
Our emergency response program delivers five days’ worth of food and hygiene essentials to seniors who would otherwise go without.
Cathedral Café
In partnership with the Anglican Diocese, our drop-in café offers meals, respite, and social work support for people facing housing insecurity.
Holiday Hope
Each year, we match low-income families and seniors with generous individuals and businesses looking to give back during the holiday season.
Childcare & Early Learning
More than 200 children, from infants to school-aged, are enrolled in our high-quality childcare and early education programs
412 Barton
Offers deeply affordable housing and wrap-around services to 15 Black and Indigenous seniors (55+) who are currently underserved in the housing system.
